2020 Back to the Root Afroeconomy Farm & Food Market Expo

 

WHO: The Back to the Root Conference is organized by the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition, Mudbone Grown, and a committee of local and regional growers, advocates, farmers, educators, and businesses. This NIFA funded gathering In its 2nd year, the conference is expected to draw over 200 attendees from Oregon, California, and Washington, including farmers,ranchers, gardeners, health workers, policy advocates, and food product makers.

WHY: The 2020 Back to the Root Conference brings back together the Black and African identified farming and growing community with local experts and practitioners to expand and strengthen our sustainable farming movement. Goals for the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition and our cooperative partners is to help Black-identified and African farmers create more successful food-or-plant centered businesses and to foster a culture of regenerative community among those engaged in the sustainable food and farming movement.

As a sponsor or exhibitor at the 2020 Back to the Root Conference Afroeconomy Market Expo, you will have the opportunity to showcase your food, green, health, or farm-related business or
organization on Thursday, February 20, the busiest day of the conference. And for food vendors, Friday, February 21 options as well at farm-site tour locations. Exhibitor tables are set up in the Main Hall, where conference-goers arrive for registration and spend their time between keynote presentations to buy refreshments, eat lunch, and attend the Expo. All main room speaker presentations will be live-streamed in the Main Hall, so as an exhibitor, you don’t
miss out on the content of the conference! The Expo is open to attendees from 8:00 am – 7:30 pm on Thursday.
